Novak Environmental, Inc. has performed comprehensive mitigation and habitat restoration plans, including:

Rio Salado Tempe

Novak Environmental, Inc., in a joint partnership with McGann & Associates (MA/NE Joint Venture), was the prime consultant for design and construction documents for the restoration of mesquite bosque, upland desert, cottonwood/willow stands and wetland habitats on Indian Bend Wash and adjacent areas on the Salt River in Tempe, Arizona.

Rio Salado Tempe included critical habitat restoration along a two-mile reach of Indian Bend Wash, including mesquite bosque, upland desert, cottonwood/willow and wetland habitat restoration.

This project received a first place award from the Valley Forward Association for environmental restoration in 2005.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  


Air gap pipe prevents back flow of water as it recirculates through ponds.


Overlook provides a place for people to view habitat.


Wetland ponds were designed to balance wildlife habitat with aviation safety.


Emergent vegetation is limited to narrow area along shoreline.

Cortaro Bosque

The Cortaro Bosque is a 69-acre site adjacent to the Santa Cruz River in the Town of Marana, Arizona. Our services included design of mesquite bosque, upland desert, cottonwood/willow stands and subsurface wetland habitat restoration.

Rincon Knolls Wildlife Crossings

One part of the Rincon Knolls project was maintaining existing wildlife corridors by creating wildlife crossings under proposed roads.


Air vents create more functional wildlife corridors.


Opening for small mammals and retiles.


Drainage structures can serve as wildlife crossing points if slightly modified.
